SOLC 28 of 31: Houdini Puppy

Entering the house after a long day out, I see my puppy on the stairs. He’s content and happy. Out of the corner of my eye I see my big dog lumber off the couch and come greet me.

I call out, “Hello?” “Anyone home?” Silence. Again, “Anyone home?” Silence.

If no one is home, why is the puppy out?

Scanning over to the carpet, an unpleasant scent greets me. A pile of poop. Ugh.

If, no one is home, the puppy should be in the crate. The puppy broke out of his crate, again.

Oh, my Houdini puppy!

A few years ago, I wrote a slice about my Houdini dogs. They didn’t just get out of the crate, though, they got out of my backyard, even with a six foot privacy fence, at least once a month. I never could figure out how they managed it…

maybe the big dog is puppy’s conspirator…

Thankfully my dog never learned to escape her crate and now as long as we walk her twice a day, she’s (usually) pretty good to be left on her own!

As cute as the title is….that sounds like a naughty houdini! Although, all the best ones are a little naughty 🙂
