SOLC 21 of 31: Birds’ Eye View

From the window,

Tiny squares of land parceled below

Rivers that look like pencil lines on a map

and lakes that look like postage stamps.

A green and brown collage of oddly shaped pieces

still and silent.

At night, lights twinkle

glimmering as we come closer

revealing the movement of the world below.

Cars move, buildings emerge,

swimming pools and baseball fields pop out.

A treat to have a birds’ eye view.
