Data, SOLC 2015, 19 of 31

At an admin meeting today we were talking about how to make data matter to teachers. Being a non-datahead, I was thinking how could we open the conversation to our teachers – where do we see and use data everyday?

Data
Diabetes data are your glucose numbers
Cooking data is the inventory in your cabinet
Sports data are runs, hits, goals
Customer data is satisfaction
Consumer data are ratings and reviews
Internet data is hits
Twitter data are trends
Fitness data is counted and tracked

Data is everywhere and all around us, now – how do we use it best?

“how to make data matter to teachers” I ask myself this question often! Unfortunately, I have not found an answer that would work for all the teachers. What did you decide at your meeting?
