Slice of Life Day 15: Spring Feet

My feet are killing me! They aren’t used to my high-heeled, open-toed sandals.  They aren’t used to these spring-time shoes.  With every season change, my feet have a transition – they rebel.  From flip flops to work shoes, from sandals to boots and so on.

Here’s an entry from my writer’s notebook on this transition from summer to fall:

My summer feet

are rebelling

against the stiff leather

of my

back to work

sandals.

Your toes must feel like early birds.

There definately is a learning curve for feet and shoes. Mine are always cold with out their sock friends the first few times out.

So the shoes cycle along with the seasons!

I always look forward to warmer weather so that I can keep my sock drawer closed and bring out the sandals hibernating in containers under my bed.

Oh I agree!! Mine are aching at the moment from newish boots that I stupidly wore for a 13 hour day at school. I long for my sandals, even with the inevitable pain that comes. Love your writing about summer feet – crisp, concise, effective.
